About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Getting Settled In

The house is coming along slowly, but surely. We are starting to get everything all settled in. Every day brings something new to put together, put up, purchase, etc... Everything is out of boxes and almost everything has found a place :) Of course the day after we planted flowers in the front the temp. was over 100 deg.! It was definitely not good for our pretty little flowers :(

This weekend we had an engagement party for Andrea and Devin at our house. The weather was perfect (thank goodness it cooled down a bit). We BBQ'ed tri-tip, sipped Margaritas, laughed alot, enjoyed a yummy Coldstone's icecream cake and sat around the bonfire at the end of the night.

The pics below are from the party and finally some pics of our new house. There will be more to come once we get completely settled. This week we'll be getting pics up on the walls, ordering closet doors and kitchen blinds and hopefully beginning the process of organizing the garage.

Josh and I have been enjoying dinners on the back deck, the weather has been awesome (especially in the evenings). We can't wait for Memorial day weekend and 3 days off! Our new niece should be here any day....we can't wait to meet her!

My students make me smile :)

So I had to share these portraits that one of my students Hailey, drew of Josh and me. They totally cracked me up! She knows that I love Superman and incorporated that, along with our kitties into the pictures. She was so proud of the pictures, that she insisted I share them with the whole class. :) My students have been such troopers lately. We recently finished STAR testing. As second graders this was their first year taking the test. As overwhelming as the test can be, I was so proud of the way they handled it. Every day this week they've been working hard on projects to have out on Open House night. They constantly bring a smile to my face with their big hugs, silly stories and curious questions about EVERYTHING! :)

Josh had his last track practice today and has Finals tomorrow. This is the third sport he's coached this season and I think he's def. ready for a little break. Along with coaching, all school year he's been planning the 8th grade trip to Wash. D.C. The first week in June, he'll be taking a group of students to see the sights in D.C.

In July we're both heading to Wash. D.C. I'm heading out ahead of him to take part in the N.E.A.R.A. (National Educators Association Representative Assembly). I am one of two teachers going as a delegate to represent my district. We'll be gathering with teachers from across the country to review bills & propositions and then vote on policy for the N.E.A. Josh will be coming out to join me once the Assembly is over so that we can do some sightseeing. I can't wait!

We're in!!!!

Well after a long week of packing and moving we are finally in our new house!!! :) Wow it's not until you have to move all of your things that you realize how much you have. I think our friends that helped us move will agree...we need to do a little downsizing!! :) The moving process began on Monday and continued throughout the week, with the last of the loads on Saturday. Thank you to all our friends who helped us move! You made the process soooo much smoother.

Now comes all of the unpacking, we are definitely NOT looking forward to this. ;) I just want to snap my fingers and have everything in place. We love this house so much and can't wait to be all settled so that we can have everyone over to see the finished product.
