This summer with Hannah was so absolutely perfect! I can't even begin to describe how much joy and happiness our little girl brings us. This summer the three of us enjoyed so much quality time together...so many snuggles, laughs, firsts and special moments.
Her little personality constantly cracks us up! I decided to keep track of some moments to share on our blog (which I'll eventually create into a
blog book).
One of her favorite things to do this summer was blow bubbles for Tuck (who LOVES jumping up to eat bubbles as they float in the air). She'll say "be patient Tuck, be patient!" when he starts to whine for another bubble blow.
Often when she is tired she'll say, "I want to snuggle up in your arms mommy and fall asleep."
(melts my heart!)
She's not a huge milk drinker, so over the summer I let her try chocolate milk for the first time in attempts to get her to drink more milk. After her first sip she said, "Mmmmm" Second sip was," This is delicious!" Third sip was, "Your the best mom!!!" clearly she liked it. :)
Over the summer she has started to use her manners without me having to prompt her, it's so cute to hear her little voice say, "excuse me" as she's trying to walk past someone in the store, or "you're welcome" when someone thanks her.
She proved to us once again over the past 2 1/2 months what an incredible traveler she is. We logged over 70 hours of travel this summer...three trips to Humboldt, South Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Bullards Bar Lake, Union Valley Reservoir, Redwood River Resort.... not to mention numerous day trips to Lake Sonoma and heading to the city for A's games. On every trip she entertained herself with books, her stuffed animals/baby dolls, eating, singing & lots of sleeping. I'm so thankful we don't have to rely on TV to make her a good traveler....now only if #2 will travel as well!! :)
Speaking of #2, Hannah is sooooo ready to be a big sister. She constantly talks about having a baby sister ...however never really mentions a brother. :) She is very loving with her baby dolls & is so sweet with all of our friends young babies. When #2 arrives we have no doubt that she'll be such a big help
& a loving big sister. :)
Another thing that cracks us up (& yet we're also very appreciative of) is her huge concern for safety in all situations. When on the boat she has no problem wearing her vest for a straight 5 hrs., always makes sure everyone is sitting when the boat is moving, if someone falls of the wake board she will point out right away if the flag isn't up and reminds us to go pick them up. :) She always makes sure she has good footing before walking in precarious places, checks in with us before doing something she hasn't done before or knows might not be safe, is a Nazi for staying on the sidewalk and holds our hands when crossing the street with no complaints. We laugh sometimes about how safety conscious she is, but in all seriousness we're very grateful for it. So often I see kids who run away from their parents at the park toward the street, hate wearing a life jacket, or refuse to follow rules that are set in place for the safety and all I can think is #2 is that going to give us a run for our money
because we have it so easy with her!!! :)
