October Fun....Fortuna Visit, 80's Dance Party and Grape Stomping

It seems as though October was over before it began! We made a lot of fun memories in October, starting with yet another "Girls Dance Party" at Ramona's, (I think this is our 5th or 6th) and this time we had an 80's theme. My parents were in town, so my mom joined us, which was a blast! It was so much fun seeing everyone's 80's gear. :) We enjoyed some good laughs, food &drink and of course tons of DANCING!!

This year at the annual "Harvest Fair" Kara and I entered in the Grape Stomp contest. Our team name was "Momma's Grape Juice" :) We made our own t-shirts with our kid's picture on the front and team name on the back. The contest was much harder than we thought it was going to be. I had the difficult job of clearing the hole through which the juice flows, while holding the glass jug. It was not easy (we tied for 17th out of 17 lol!), but we had such a great time and will definitely enter again next year.

 Josh, Hannah and I headed up to Humboldt mid-October to celebrate my dad, Josh and Shaun's birthdays. We had a fun weekend filled with lunch at the Pizza Co. and Bocci Ball in Ferndale, shopping, playing at the park, and dinner at Mazotti's in Arcata. The weekend trips never seem long enough, however they're always filled with fun memories and much needed time with family that we wish lived closer!

This month Hannah has grown and changed even more. :)  I'll post pics from the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating as soon as I can and I'll also share a Hannah update. ( She'll be 19 months of the 4th of November.)

14 month photo shoot

When going through pictures the other day I realized that I never posted pictures from Hannah's 14 month photo shoot. Yes I realize I'm 4 months late! However, there were a lot of pics that I love and wanted to share.........so I decided to create a new post for some of my favorite pictures from that day. :)

18 Months Old

Hannah was officially 18 months old yesterday. Where has the time gone?!?! She has recently started to become more of a hugger (which Josh and I LOVE). When I pick her up from daycare she runs to me, (as fast as she can) with her arms wide open saying "mama mama!" as gives me a huge hug. :) The last part of our nightly routine is me kissing her and saying I love you just before I lay her down for bed. Well now she answers back with "I love you too mama." :) It melts my heart every time!

Dancing continues to be one of her favorite things to do. She dances in the kitchen with mom and dad, at daycare with her friends, in her car seat while driving...basically if there is music playing and she likes the song she'll start bobbin' her head to the beat. :)  I can't wait until she's old enough for dance class! Verbally she's able to express herself so much better. She's starting to read some of her books to us, by pointing to the pictures of things she knows and saying what they are. She can now climb our front porch stairs leading to the front door (without holding a hand) and is sooo proud of herself! She recently got her first backpack and wants to wear it all the time. :)

She had her first dentist appointment last week and did surprisingly well. She loved the doll house that was in the waiting room and did a great job of showing Dr. Jamie how she brushes her teeth. She was not a fan of lying back in the chair and having her teeth inspected, cleaned and coated with fluoride. However, she was very excited to pick out two stickers and have her photo taken for the "Cavity Free" wall. :)

Visits with Grandparents

Last weekend we drove over to Jackson for a baby shower for Hannah's new cousin (due on Thanksgiving). Hannah spent the morning playing with Papa and Grandma Martin and her cousin Austin at the park where the shower was held. Although the drive was about 2 1/2 hours, it was so great to spend some time with together. We wish we could do it more often!! Love you Grandma and Papa!Following the shower we drove Rancho Cordova to spend the afternoon and evening with Hannah’s Nanna and Papa Heald. Hannah and her cousin Mazzy enjoyed some play time together with their Nanna and Papa. They both had fun taking care of their baby dolls and enjoyed dinner together at their very own little table. Following dinner we all walked down to the park where they slid, swung and had lots of giggles. We love you Nanna and Papa! Thanks for the fun visit!

This weekend my parents are down for a visit. Hannah stayed home both Thursday and Friday from daycare to spend the day with them. I'm jealous and wish I could have been home too! This weekend we have lots of fun things on the agenda.

Tonight: Home cooked dinner by my mom = delicious!, followed by board games and a movie

Tomorrow: The Harvest Fair at the SR Fairgrounds...this will entail rides/games/kids shows for Hannah; tasting some Medal-Winning wines for the adults and the "Grape Stomping Contest" which Kara and I entered in this year

(Saturday evening) the girls will be getting together for an "80's Dance Party" at Ramona's (can't wait to crimp my hair, get decked out in 80's gear, enjoy some tasty cocktails and dance!!!)

Sunday: Brunch with Nonne and Nonnie before they head home, then book club at my house at 5:30....I need to finish the book!!
