About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

7 months old

Hannah turned 7 months (2 1/2 weeks ago), so as you can see I'm a bit behind with updating the blog. :) Our little girl has grown and changed so much in the past month. She still continues to be a good eater and has definitely packed on a little weight (I just love her chubby little thighs!), so far we have made all of her food from fresh fruits, vegetables, etc... My mom got us this awesome baby food processor called a Beaba, it steams and purees her food. Some new foods she likes are chicken, yams, cheese, scrambled egg yolk...she continues to love ALL fruits, avocado, and green beans. She is very close to crawling. She gets on all fours and rocks back and forth and then starts to scootch forward by arching her bottom into the air. She gets frustrated when she can't get to something as quickly as she'd like to. Her new favorite thing to do is hold on to our hands and walk. You can tell she wants to walk on her own soooo badly! She also has started making this face where she scrunches up her nose and makes a sniffing sound, she thinks she's too funny. She is still such a happy girl. It's veen so easy to catch her smiling on camera. We bought a new video camera yesterday, it's a High Def. Canon. We're very excited! Hannah continues to be a good napper (4-5 hrs a day) and is still sleeping through the night (with the exception of some nights while battling a cold). I ended up taking a 2 week sub job in my good friend Heidi's class, who became unexpectedly ill and asked me to cover her class. Because I feel so good about Hannah's daycare situation and really wanted to help Heidi out I took the job. I will also be working for the 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas in 1st grade at the school where I did my student teaching years ago. I wanted to say no so badly when they asked me if I'd take the job, however the money is too good. I just keep telling myself that it's only 3 weeks. Hannah's friend Kenzie is now at daycare with Hannah 3 days a week. They are too cute playing together. Stacy, Hannah's daycare provider, took some pictures of Hannah at daycare with her friends which I posted below.

Hannah's first Halloween/Trip to Humboldt

This year Hannah was a baby chick for Halloween. She did really well with wearing her costume for pictures and surprisingly didn't try and yank the head piece off right away. She got to wear her costume first with her friends at baby sign class the Wed. before Halloween. It was too cute seeing the babies (ages 5 mon-8mon) in their costumes together. We headed up to Fortuna that Friday for Sean's surprise 30th birthday party. We had a good time catching up with family and friends. Halloween was pretty mellow this year, we did dinner and hung out with my family while passing candy out to trick-or-treaters. Josh headed home on Sunday with Tuck while Hannah and I stayed up in Fortuna through Thursday. I really enjoyed my first week off and being able to spend some time with my family and friends in Fortuna. My parents drove Hannah and I back down on Thursday and watched her that night so Josh and I could do "Survivor Night" with our friends (baby-free) :) On Saturday they watched Hannah all day so we could have a day away just the two of us. I'll post some pics from our trip to San Jose along with pics of Hannah turning 7 months later this week.

Josh's birthday weekend

For Josh's birthday this year (Oct. 23)we celebrated on Friday night with a group of friends at our house. We barbequed tri -tip and enjoyed the nice October evening in our back yard. On Saturday, his mom and Paul drove over for a visit. We had such a great time with them. Hannah was all smiles when she saw them. :) We went up to Crane Canyon, where Paul and Josh played some Frisbee golf and Jan and I walked Hannah and Tuck on the trails. That night we went to one of Josh's favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner. It was so nice having a relaxing weekend at home with family and friends to celebrate Josh's birthday.
