About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

June...Part 1

June has been a fun, yet insanely busy month for us! We've been on the go so much that I think it's going to take me 3 posts to include all the photos and stories. Below are a few pics from our first "game night in the park." Every Tuesday night during the summer we get together with friends to play various games, snack on food and enjoy some tasty beverages. We play games ranging from sand volleyball, to horseshoes and botchie ball. We have croquet and ladder ball for the kids (as well as adults). It's a great excuse to get together with our friends each week and enjoy some games. Hannah invited her friend Nico to the first game night of the season. They look so big sitting at the picnic table having their snack together!

Ready for some ladder ball
We traveled to Humboldt the first weekend in June for Amy and Jared's wedding. On our way up we stopped at Confusion Hill because we wanted to take Hannah on the train, however due to the weather it was closed. :(  We did enjoy walking around and posing for a few pics. :) Amy and Jared's wedding was beautiful. Although I had my camera, I was so busy catching up with people I hadn't seen in awhile that didn't take any pictures at the wedding or reception.  I can't believe my sister and Shaun's wedding is just around the corner!!!
Our attempt at a photo in front of Old Mother Hubbard's shoe :)

Hannah playing with her friend Domenic. I just love how he's smiling at her :)
We traveled home from Fortuna Sunday and early Monday morning my mom, Hannah and I flew to North Carolina. This was Hannah's first flight and I was a little nervous about being confined to a small seat with a 1 year old. My little girl proved to me that she is not only a good car traveler, but a good plane traveler as well! :) Our first flight was the longest (5 hrs) & second was 1 1/2 hrs......thank goodness she loves her snacks and was able to fall asleep on my lap!!! Hannah doesn't watch TV yet and really has no interest in it...I never thought I'd find myself kinda wishing she'd be interested in the tiny TV on the back of the seat in front of us :) It only held her attention for maybe 2 minutes!!!
Enjoying the seat to herself while Nonnie went to the bathroom
Fell asleep still gripping her sandwich:)

Hannah, my mom and I traveled to North Carolina for a visit with our close family friends, the Coopers. Elizabeth graduated from 8th grade that week and Matthew from high school. I began babysitting for the Coopers when I was just fourteen years old. At the time Matthew was just under two and Elizabeth (Betsy) wasn't born yet. I formed a close relationship with the Coopers and became a close part of their family. I've experienced so many of the children's milestones while growing up, so it was extremely important for me to be at both of their graduations. Josh unfortunately couldnt' make it, so my mom traveled with us which was a lot of fun.

Matthew's graduation at Cameron basketball stadium on Duke University's campus was amazing. The stadium itself is gorgeous! Matthew was one of over 300 graduates. He had the honor of being in the top 10 of his class. He was accepted to and will be attending Stanford Univ. this fall. I'm so proud of him!!!
She had so much fun running around the "Sports Hall of Fame"
Ready for a dip in the pool with mom at the party after the graduation

This weekend we are off to Lake Almanor to stay at Andrea and Devin's cabin and hang out with some good friends. When I get back I'll attempt to post pics and stories from our day at the A's/Giant's game, first trip to the lake of the season, camping at Lake Pillsbury and Nicole's Fortuna bridal shower and bachelorette and then I'm off to VEGAS next week!!!!

One year pics...a couple months late :)

Just after Hannah turned one, our good friend Wayne Moore (our wedding photographer), his wife Sheila and my friend Linda came over to our house to have lunch with Hannah and I. Wayne surprised me with an impromptu photo shoot of Hannah. He captured some great pictures of her playing in the house and out on our front lawn. They turned out so cute! Thank you Wayne! :)
