About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Major progress

With an incredible amount of help from our amazing friends, we have made so much progress on our house! The yard is looking great (thanks Michelle and Carley for Sat!!!), Josh sanded the hardwood floors with the help of Dave over the weekend (they look like brand new!), Ian, Kara, Jeremy and Jim came over to help Josh wash the walls, sand the deck, and paint on Monday. Tonight Josh and I did some painting/caulking, while Kia and Trace worked on the guest bathroom. Seriously did I mention that we have awesome friends?!?!?! I don't think a day has gone by that we haven't had people over to help us. Tomorrow my dad is coming in to town to help us paint & Nicole and Shaun will be here Friday so the boys can lay the new carpet. The weekend will also include a trip to IKEA :) All in all we have done more than we could have imagined in such a short amount of time, all of this was only possible due to the help of our friends and family along the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you....we love you guys!

Annual District Bowling Event

Last Friday was Cotati/Rohnert Park's annual bowling tournament put on by our teacher's union. Each of the schools from our district (7 elementary, 2 middle and 1 high) put together a team. Being one of my school's Union Reps, I was really pushing my staff to participate and we ended up putting together 2 teams! We had such a blast and laughed soooo incredibly hard! I work with some pretty awesome teachers, whom I'm fortunate enough to call my close friends.

Our nephew Austin

Last weekend was Dustin and Mel's baby shower (Josh's brother and sis-in-law). We had such a nice time enjoying the weather and seeing everyone. Josh's mom and step dad made the trip over, along with Amanda, Matt and Austin (Josh's sis and brother-in-law). Our nephewAustin is getting so big! He is so long and has such big hands and feet for a 2 1/2 month old. He's a strong little guy with such an incredibly sweet personality. I was a total baby hog and didn't want to give him up for anyone else to hold. :) Hopefully it's not too long before we see them again!

Busy Weekend Working On The House!

Last weekend we got SO MUCH done on our house. We have such incredible friends and family! We couldn't have made the progress we did without them. The girls worked all day Sat. weeding. Of course it was the hottest weekend so far this year! We were roasting :) We filled 25 huge garbage bags of weeds!!! The boys scrapped the ceilings in the bedrooms, hallway, living room and dining area...they didn't give up there, next they continued to also sand all the ceilings the same day! On Sunday Josh's step dad Paul taught him how to texture ceilings and together they got it all done. This week/weekend will come painting the ceilings and refinishing the hard wood floors. We can't wait for everyone to see the finished product!

Christening our house!!!

Tonight we hung with a few friends to Christen our new house! It was a gorgeous day (80 deg. here and absolutely beautiful)! Sitting out on our new back deckwhile soaking in the rays felt soooo nice!

Ok so the weirdest thing happened....the song "Beautiful Day" by U2 (our wedding day song), was playing on the radio as I came up to the house this afternoon! Talk about weird huh?!?! Unlocking the doors to OUR new house for the first time felt incredible! Tomorrow will begin Day 1 of work on the house. Boys will be working on the ceilings, while the girls do yard work. Again the weather is supposed to be gorgeous...soooo I guess I get to work on my tan! :)

Pictures will soon be up as work on the house progresses. Thanks everyone for all your congrats....we are so excited! :)

Trip To Fortuna

Last weekend we made the drive up to Fortuna for 2 important reasons. First and foremost we got to see Ang and Domenic! Dom is getting so big and is so stinkin' cute! It was hard for me to give him up to anyone else to hold. :) It was so great spending time with them and catching up with Ang (in person!). We stayed at Nicole and Shaun's new place (it is so cute!). It was strange going to Fortuna and not staying at my parents, but we definitely went up to their house for many visits . The second reason for our trip up was to pick up our carpet for our new house! So exciting!!! Thanks to Sean we got an incredible deal on some awesome carpet. Overall we had a great weekend seeing family and friends...of course it was over before we knew it! We were quite the sight driving home with three huge rolls of carpet strapped to the truck. :)
