About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Vacation to Washington D.C.

Josh and I traveled to Washington D.C. for 2 weeks at the beginning of July. We had such a great time! It was so nice to get away from our hectic lives and spend some time just the two of us. We saw so many sites and walked everywhere! Our feet were killing us by the end of the trip :) I learned so much about our nation's capitol thanks to my husband the history teacher. :) At the beginning of the trip I took part in the National Educator's Representative Assembly as a representative from my district's teacher's union. I spent 5 days attending morning caucus' with 1,200 other delegates from California and then in the afternoon gathered with delegates from every state for the representative assembly...there over 12,000 teachers at the Rep. Assemblies! It was such an incredible experience.
At the NEA RA.

For the 4th of July we went down to an area called "The Mall" which is a long strip of grass stretching from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol. We sat between the National Monument and the Lincoln Memorial to watch the fireworks show. It was so awesome to be in our Nation's Capital on the 4th. We got drizzled on a bit (typical for D.C.!).

The panda's at the National Zoo were so adorable. :) It was the largest zoo we've ever been to.

Water Taxi ride Visiting Fort McHenry (the location where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write our National Anthem)

Before the Baltimore Orioles game at "Pickles"....we enjoyed a beer and some tasty deep fried dill pickles here (it may sound gross, but they were sooooo good!) :)

Inside Camden Yards, such a beautiful stadium

Inside our favorite Smithsonian "Air and Space"

Visiting Georgetown Univ. The campus was breathtaking!

Dave and Tracy's wedding festivities

Well I meant to put up this post before we headed to D.C., but I got so busy packing and finishing last min. things that I ended up starting it and never finishing it. The weekend before we left we celebrated Dave and Tracy's wedding. The festivities kicked off Thurs. with a BBQ, Friday was the wedding and Sat. was the post brunch. We had such a good time. :) The wedding was so beautiful! It was so nice to spend time with friends we don't get to see that often. I'm usually really good about taking pictures, but for some reason I took a handful at the beginning of the reception and then didn't pick up my camera for the rest of the night. I guess I was too busy dancing. :) ....I know shocking!! :) As soon as I have some time, I'll put up pics from our East Coast trip.

Great day on the lake

Last summer we bought a wakesurf board so that we had a something new to try on the boat. There's only so much wakeboarding, water skiing and toobing you can do! :) After a few tries we got the hang of it. When wakesurfing, the boat is only going approx. 10 mph and you are surfing in the wake directly behind it. Once you get into "the sweet spot" (as we call it), you are able to toss the rope back on the boat and surf in the wake. It's so much fun! Below is a video of Josh wakesurfing out on Lake Sonoma earlier this week.

It was so great getting my sis and Sean out on the boat. The weather was awesome!

Love you sis!

Childhood friends

This weekend we traveled to Elk Grove for Lauren and Jarrad's wedding reception. The bride and groom looked awesome! It was so good to see everyone and catch up. Our parentshave been friends since before we were born, therefore us girls have been friends since birth. We don't get to see each other nearly as much as we'd like to these days. Growing up we have videos of ourselves doing silly lip syncs for our parents, camping with our dads, racing down the waterslides, snowskiing and so much more. We grew up in two different states, but were always so close. I wish we didn't live in 4 different places today
