About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

1st Birthday and Easter

Hannah had a very exciting first birthday. She was fortunate enough to have good weather on the day of her party (it rained the day before and the day after!) She was joined by 75 of her closest friends and family members. We decided to do a butterfly theme for her party, it was fun searching for things that went along with the theme. The kid's goodie bags were butterfly nets filled with treats (including delicous, homemade butterfly sugar cookies that my mom made). Some of my students from last year made watercolor butterflies for decorations that were adorable and my good friend Ramona made tissue paper butterflies that we scattered on the tables. I printed pictures of some of Hannah's firsts throughout the year and had them up with the title "Fluttering Through A Year of Firsts." I also found edible butterflies online, which we used for the cupcakes. :)
Hannah's birthday Tu-Tu, Wings and cupcake romper were a gift from her Auntie Nicole. Suprisingly the wings did not bother her one bit and she LOVED wearing her tu-tu. :)

She loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her, but wasn't quite sure about her icecream cake. At first she was very tentative about even touching it, but once dad cut into it and gave her a taste she was hooked! She really wanted to share some of it with mom as you can see in the picture below. :)
Dancing with mom (she loves to dance! hmmmm....I wonder where she gets that from?)
Had more fun playing in the tissue and wrapping paper than opening the gifts
Hannah's actual birthday fell on Easter Sunday this year. She was so happy to have so much of her family with her. We had a delicious Easter brunch followed by opening Easter baskets. After nap time Hannah and her cousin Mazzy went on an Easter Egg hunt and decorated eggs. The most exciting part of the entire day for us was having Hannah start walking. It was so great that all her family were there to witness such a big milestone. Everyone was clapping and cheering her on. :)

Meeting the Easter Bunny

My girlfriend Renee and I met up at the mall yesterday and while we were there we decided to have Hannah and Nico's pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. We hadn't planned on getting the picture done when arriving at the mall, but decided it could make for an entertaining picture. (NOTE: when they had their picture taken with Santa Nico was totally fine, yet he totally freaked Hannah out) Well the minute we stepped into the picture taking area, Nico looked at Mr. Bunny and immediately started crying. Hannah on the other hand shocked me and was waving and smiling at the Easter Bunny as he waved and smiled at her. She even accepted an egg from him. This all changed however, the minute we put both Hannah and Nico on his lap. The both started crying at the top of their lungs. As bad as it probably looked, Renee and I were laughing uncontrollably. :) Needless to say, Hannah is 0 for 2 when it comes to meeting holiday icons.

11 month pics with Andrea

Our good friend Andrea took some improptu pictures of Hannah at 11 months old. Since it was last minute she didn't have her professional camera, but got some great shots on her point and shoot.  Below are some of my favorites. Thanks Andrea!
