About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Easter

Easter weekend started out with Nonnie, Nonne, Auntie Cole and Uncle Sean getting into town. I had the Friday before Easter off....Josh had to work =( So my family and I took Hannah to Howarth Park. She had a blast riding the train, carousel (multiple times) and loved her pony ride as well. The weather was gorgeous! Howarth Park was followed by shopping at the Petaluma Outlets and a trip to Juice Shack on the way home. =)

That afternoon Grandma, Papa, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Mel, Mazzy and Ellory came over for dinner and dying Easter Eggs. Hannah had fun dying eggs with her family and was very careful to not get her fingers in the dye. (It was pretty funny watching her be so "neat" about dying her eggs.)

Easter morning we loaded up in the car and headed over to Mel and Dustin's for Easter brunch and an egg hunt.  Brunch was delicious and the girls were very eager for their egg hunt. They kept running to the window to see if the Easter bunny was outside. This was Hannah's 3rd Easter (she was born just one week before Easter) and it was by far the most fun! She enjoyed actually "hunting" for eggs and putting them in her basket, however was distracted just a couple minutes in by her cousin's bike that she really wanted to ride. I look forward to the fun we'll have with her on Easter egg hunts in years to come!

Ready for Summer

This past weekend we went down to Oakland for our first A's game of the season. Being down at the Collesium, tailgaiting with friends before the game, and cheering the A's on to a 6-2 victory over the Tigers, made me feel soooo ready for summer! :) Hannah had a great time BBQing, relaxing in her camping chair, doing bubbles and drawing with chalk while we tailgated before the game. Once inside the game she got very excited when she saw the field, saying "baseball game! baseball game!"  :)  This is the first time we've gotten her her own seat and she loved it. The past two seasons she was way too little to really understand what was going on, but now she has a T-Ball set of her own and a baseball glove and loves to say "Goooo A's!" Her two favorite parts of the game were cracking open peanuts & eatting them and standing up with mom to dance and cheer everytime a run was scored. She kept asking, "Another hit so we can dance!?!"  :)

We recently purchased a bike attachment at Costco so that we could go on family bike rides together. We took it out for it's first spin the weekend before last. Hannah loved that her baby dolls could go along with her on the bike ride. We rode over to Juice Shack for a smoothie and pretzel, then stopped by the park before heading home. It was such a great way to spend our Sunday afternoon...looking forward to many rides this summer!!

Now that summer is just around the corner, I am so anxious for it to start!!  It's kind of bittersweet because I've had such an amazing group of kids this year and it's going to be hard to see them go. With summer approaching our calendar has begun to fill up! We just upgraded our tent (once again) to the newest model of the one we already had (love it!!).  Because we own a boat, much of our summer is filled with day trips to the lake and week long camping trips. I love that owning a boat allows us to be on the lake whenever we'd like. Because Josh and I are both off during the summers, it allows us to travel a lot...have I mentioned how much I love summer?!?
Things we're looking forward to this summer:
  • Weekly game nights in the park with friends
  • swim lessons
  • Trip to Lake Tahoe....it feels like forever since we've been!!! Before Hannah, Josh and I used to go at least three times a year, we'd like to start creating memories with her there.
  • Camping at Bullards Bar (looking forward to visitng a new lake)
  • Camping trip to Bass Lake (one of the top rated ski lakes in California) This will be our first trip to Bass Lake & we can't wait to get the boat on it to get some good wakeboard/wakesurf runs in!

  • Yosemite (Josh & I haven't been to Yosemite since we were first dating 8 years ago. We're excited to take Hannah there for the first time. It is sooo beautiful!)

  •  Annual Family Camping Trip to Union Valley Resevior
  •  Rodeo weekend in Fortuna
  • A's games
  • celebrating our 6th anniversary
  • Girls Dance parties at Ramona's house
  • Reno Rib Cook Off

Two Years Old

On Saturday April 2nd we celebrated Hannah's 2nd birthday at our house. Unlike last year when we were worried about rain, this year the sun was shining on us all day! Hannah was excited all week leading up to her "Hello Kitty" birthday party. She told both of us that all she wanted for her birthday was cake. :) Despite the fact that I felt I had toned down the party a bit from last year's celebration, we still had over 45 adults and 22 children. Hannah had such a blast running around and playing with her friends.

Once she blew out her candles and it was time to eat her cake, we told her to go ahead and "dig in" with her hands...she looked to us like we were crazy and asked for a fork :)
