About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Afternoon at the Beach

Last weekend we took Tuck on his first trip to the ocean. We were so excited to see how he'd react to the sand and ocean. He absolutely loved running around in the sand. He did really well being off his leash and following along beside us as we walked along the water's edge. He ran up to every person that walked by us, licking them uncontrollably. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the ocean. He'd run up to Josh when the water was out, but as soon as the waves came rolling back in he'd high tail it back to me. It was pretty funny! He's getting so big!!!

He was more interested in Josh than the birds :)

Fortuna High class of '98 10 year reunion & highschool memories

The first weekend in Sept. was my 10 year class reunion. I can't believe 10 years have already flown by since high school! In many ways high school seems like forever ago and then other times it feels like it was just yesterday. My graduating class was awesome, there are so many of us that still keep in touch. I am still very close with all my best guy and girl friends...we make a point of getting together as much as we can throughout the year. I had much excitment about our 10 year, yet was filled with anxiety at the same time...this was mainly due to the fact that I was in charge of planning it. Amber and I began planning the reunion over a year ago and it seriously felt like planning another wedding! All in all it was a hit and everyone had a good time. Below are pics from the reunion followed by some high school pics that I dug up to incorporate into a slideshow at the reunion.

August is almost over

Well August has flown by, as did the rest of the summer! Our last couple weeks have been filled with many different things. I went on an RV trip with my women's softball team (this was our 2nd annual trip). As usual we had a blast! The weather was much better than last year, I guess it helps going in Aug. as opposed to Sept. :) Our new puppy Tuck has kept us on our toes. He's getting into more of a routine and is sleeping about 6 hrs. straight during the night...finally! This has been serious parenting practice. He is currently teething and wants to chew on EVERYTHING (including us!), so we are using different techniques to help encourage chewing on only his toys.

Josh has been back at school 2 weeks. His school year has gone smoothly so far. He just began coaching Cross Country last week, which will occupy his time after school for the next 8 weeks. I start back to school next Tues. With our late start this school year I've had an incredibly long summer! This has been my first year not setting up a new classroom....I can't tell you how good it feels to not have to upack boxes and paper walls!!!! I've been spending a little time here and there organizing and labeling cabinets & reorganizing my classroom library....whew! What a task!

This weekend we're traveling (with Tuck) to Josh's parents in Carson City. On Sat. we'll go to the Rib Cookoff in Reno. We went last year and had a great time. Along with the cookoff, we're going to take their boat out on Sunday. Perfect last weekend before school starts! My 10 year reunion comes up the following weekend. I'm excited, yet stressed about it. Planning your reunion takes away that carefree feeling of just going and not worrying about anything. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly! Below are a few pics from the past few weeks.
