About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Family, Beach, Friends, Fair, Wedding = BUSY!!!

Last weekend we met up with Josh's family on his mom's side because his cousin Shelly and her son Cameron (2 weeks younger than Hannah) came out for a visit from Australia (John couldn't make it). We got together at his Aunt Trish and Uncle Russ' home for lunch. It was so great to see Shelly, meet Cameron and see all the cousin's and their little ones. We were bummed we didn't get a pic of Cameron and Hannah together before they went down for naps. Hopefully Josh and I will be able to make it out to Australia to visit them at some point. The visit flew by too quickly!

We took a trip out to Dillon Beach with some friends to spend the day ocean kayaking, playing games, having lunch and relaxing. The sun never broke through, however the temperature wasn't too bad. We love living near the ocean and try to make it out there as much as possible.

Within one week Hannah got to meet two new friends! The first was Gavin. :) One of my best friends Amber was in CA visiting family for a few days, so Hannah and I drove to Rocklin to visit her and her little guy Gavin (8 months old) over at her parent's house. Lisa and her mom Sue joined us for dinner too. It was so good to catch up with everyone. Amber and I had so much fun getting our little ones together for the first time. We had quite the difficult time posing them for a pic together. Being 8 months old, Gavin is very active! It was cute to see the two of them together, they had a few moments where they were very intrigued by one another. :) Amber, Nic and Gavin will be moving to CA in the near future and I am soooo excited!!

The second friend Hannah met was Domenic. We met up with Ang, Domenic, Lupita and Trav for a quick visit on their way through Rohnert Park. Domenic was too cute with Hannah while giving her kisses. He got in some good practice for his new baby sister due Oct. 23 ( Josh's birthday!!) I'm so bummed we weren't able to make it to the shower at Benbow. Our baby girls will be just 6 mon. apart. :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someday they'll move back to California. The Sonoma County Fair is going on, so like always we pick a day to check out the exhibits, animals, etc... Hannah was awake for the first hour and then slept the remainder of the time. It's going to be so fun in the future when she'll be able to go on rides, as for this trip she was very fascinated by the flower garden and cows. :)Enjoying her fingers :)
Jeremy and Sandra got married in Mill Valley last Sat. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. Hannah stayed at home for this one so mom and dad could have a night out. :) Karina watched her until Josh's mom and Paul made it over to put her to bed. Apparently she was on her best behavior and was all smiles for Karina, Grandma and Poppa.

4 months old!!!!

Hannah turned 4 months old today and had her 4 mon. appointment yesterday. Her appointment went really well. She is now 13 lbs. 4 oz (gaining exactly 3 lbs to the ounce in two months) and is 24 in. long. She is in the 44th percentile in weight and 43rd percentile in height (still quite proportional). Dr. Silver examined her and reported that she is very healthy and is growing nicely. After her visit to Dr. Silver, Hannah received her next series of shots. She did great once again, only crying while being given the shot and then stopping once I picked her up afterwards.

We are having so much fun with her at this age. She is laughing and smiling all the time. She has started interacting with her toys and now enjoys "tummy time" and looking at herself in the mirror. :) She sits up with assistance and loves holding onto our fingers to stand up. She is a social butterfly and loves to be around others. She's a chatter box, talking as loudly as she can to whomever will listen. She loves listening to stories before bed, focusing intently on the pictures. :) She's been sleeping her in crib for just over 2 months now and just tonight for the first time put herself to sleep without any fussing (usually she takes about 10 min. to cry herself to sleep). She still wakes up to feed once in the middle of the night and sleeps in until about 8. If it's a day when Josh and I want to sleep in, we bring her in bed with us in the morning and she snuggles up continuing to sleep until we get up around 10 or 10:30 (so great!!!) July we were on the go sooo much, so we're excited that Aug. will be a little more mellow. We're heading to Oakland for an A's game Thurs. and are taking the boat on the lake Friday, and will be at home for a low key relaxing weekend.

Union Valley Annual Family Camping Trip

This July we had our 3rd annual family camping trip to Union Valley. Each year we get together with family and friends to camp at one of the most beautiful lakes in California. This year our group was it's largest so far. totalling 45 people over the course of 5 days. We went up early Wed. morning to get camp sites and were lucky enough to get the last 5 which were all right next to each other. We couldn't believe how packed it was! Josh's mom and Paul came again this year, and for the first time his brother Dustin, wife Mel & niece Mazzy and his step sister Amanda, her husband Matt and our nephew Austin joined us. It was so great to have Hannah together camping with her cousins for the first time. The weather was perfect (mid 80's) and the water temp was so nice! Hannah had her first dip in a lake (up to her waist) and loved it. :) She is already such a water baby. We enjoyed wake boarding and surfing and taking the Sea Doos out for a spin. Ian and Josh did the cooking for the entire group Thurs., Fri., and Sat. nights. They did such a great job with tri-tip one night, chicken the next and ribs the last. Josh brought up strawberry flavored marshmallows and Vanilla-Carmel marshmallows, which the kids loved making smores with (strawberry tasted pretty good, but vanilla-caramel was not so good). The guys organized a Frisbee golf tournament on Friday and a horseshoe tournament on Saturday. Hannah did well on her second camping trip of the summer. She loves being outdoors and enjoyed spending so much time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. With her being so young camping was super easy this year, next year however we will be chasing a toddler all over the campground and spending lots of time in the water. :)
