About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Hannah's first Halloween/Trip to Humboldt

This year Hannah was a baby chick for Halloween. She did really well with wearing her costume for pictures and surprisingly didn't try and yank the head piece off right away. She got to wear her costume first with her friends at baby sign class the Wed. before Halloween. It was too cute seeing the babies (ages 5 mon-8mon) in their costumes together. We headed up to Fortuna that Friday for Sean's surprise 30th birthday party. We had a good time catching up with family and friends. Halloween was pretty mellow this year, we did dinner and hung out with my family while passing candy out to trick-or-treaters. Josh headed home on Sunday with Tuck while Hannah and I stayed up in Fortuna through Thursday. I really enjoyed my first week off and being able to spend some time with my family and friends in Fortuna. My parents drove Hannah and I back down on Thursday and watched her that night so Josh and I could do "Survivor Night" with our friends (baby-free) :) On Saturday they watched Hannah all day so we could have a day away just the two of us. I'll post some pics from our trip to San Jose along with pics of Hannah turning 7 months later this week.

First time wearing her costume with her friend Kenzie (the candy corn)Hannah, Kenzie, Michael and Nico all dressed up after baby sign lang. classRenee and I with our babies...Nico was very entertained by Hannah's costumeIn Fortuna with her cousin Brody

Josh's birthday weekend

For Josh's birthday this year (Oct. 23)we celebrated on Friday night with a group of friends at our house. We barbequed tri -tip and enjoyed the nice October evening in our back yard. On Saturday, his mom and Paul drove over for a visit. We had such a great time with them. Hannah was all smiles when she saw them. :) We went up to Crane Canyon, where Paul and Josh played some Frisbee golf and Jan and I walked Hannah and Tuck on the trails. That night we went to one of Josh's favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner. It was so nice having a relaxing weekend at home with family and friends to celebrate Josh's birthday.

Alexander Valley Winetasting & The Pumpkin Patch

A couple weekends ago we did some wine tasting in Alexander Valley with friends. It turned out to be a gorgeous day, by noon the clouds had burned off and the skies were clear and sunny. We visited 4 wineries, the last of which had grapes still on the vine. Hannah loved looking at the grapes and wanted to get her hands on them so badly! We tasted some really great wines and timed it so that Hannah fell asleep right before we got to the first winery and didn't wake up until we got to the third. That weekend we also took Hannah on her first trip to the pumpkin patch with her cousin Mazzy, Uncle Dustin and Aunt Mel. The weather was a little chilly that day, but Hannah still enjoyed sitting on dad's lap during the tractor ride to pick out a pumpkin, walking through the hay maze with mom, exploring the pumpkins with Mazzy and looking at all the different creatures they had on exhibit from cute owls to creepy tarantula spiders. (I hope Hannah doesn't develop my extreme fear of spiders.)

6 month photo session

Here are some favorites from her 6 month photos. Our little girl is growing and changing so fast! At her 6 month appointment she weighed 16 lbs 10 oz and was 25 in long. :) I only have 2 more weeks of work and then I get to be home with her again. I can't wait! Josh had cross country finals on Thurs. so he is done with coaching until January. We're so happy we'll be able to spend more time with Hannah during the week. :)
