About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

Videos :)

Here are a couple videos I took from my IPhone that I thought I'd upload to the blog. The first is of Hannah and her friend Nico in the bath together. They had a fun afternoon of playing in the sun together, enjoying a BBQ dinner with their parents and then had a blast in the bath together. Nico loved showing off his swimming skills to Hannah and then screaming in delight. :)
I took this video on our drive up to Union Valley for our annual camping trip this past weekend. Hannah loves reading books to herself. We never get tired listening to her little voice. She tries so hard to read the stories like mom and dad do to her. :)

Lake Almanor/4th of July

At the end of June/beginning of July, we traveled with friends to stay at Andrea and Devin's cabin in Chester, Ca (15 min. from Lake Almanor). We had such a nice time relaxing and hanging out with friends. This year was the first time some of us decided to try tubing down the small waterfall behind the cabin. I was pretty excited I didn't fall out during my first attempt, however I was not so lucky during my second. :) Hannah had a good time playing with her friends Caleb and Jacob. They spent a lot of time scooping rocks and playing in the dirt together. :) This year we decided to tow our boat up so that we could take it out to Lake Almanor. The lake was beautiful, however it was windy and the water was extremely choppy. I think that was the first and last time our boat will make the trip to Lake Almanor.

On the Fourth of July this year I organized our first annual BBQ/Kickball Extravaganza. :) We gathered with about of 25 of our friends to BBQ in the park and play two kickball games. I honestly don't think I've played kickball since Jr. High! I forgot how much I loved it. :) The only thing I was not a fan of, was playing by the rule that you could get someone out by hitting them with the ball. The boys insisted this was how kickball is played, however I do not recall ever playing it this way. :) After kickball we BBQ'ed, played horseshoes and relaxed in the sun.
Ready to get our  kick on!

June Part 3....Nicole's bridal shower and Fortuna bachelorette party

It's mid July and I'm finally finding the time to blog about the end of June! We headed up to Fortuna the last weekend of June for the bridal shower and bachelorette party that the bridesmaids threw for Nicole. The weekend was busy from start to finish! Nicole's bridal shower was a wine and cheese theme because first off Nicole loves wine and cheese :) and secondly Shaun proposed to her at a winery (Unti). Everything came together so nicely. Nicole was joined by some of her closest friends and family members. We enjoyed some delicious food, good laughs and tasty wine.
The bride, with 5 of her 8 bridesmaids (Just missing Brianne, Sara P and Alicia)
Ready for a night on the town with the girls!
"special" cupcakes...they were delicious!!!

June...Part 2

The day after arriving home from North Carolina Josh and I headed to an A's/Giants game in SF with a group of friends. (Hannah got to spend the day with Nonnie & Nonne) We started our afternoon at The 21st Amendment's "beer garden". We had some lunch and drinks (my favorite is their Watermelon Wheat).
We had a great time at the game, however the A's lost which was a bummer. Ice cream sundaes at Ghirardellis afterwards ended up making it all better!
Our first trip on the lake this season was to Lake Sonoma. We weren't quite sure how Hannah was going to do wearing a life vest 5+ straight hours. As uncomfortable as she looked, she did amazingly. Not once did she fuss to have it off or really even act bothered by it. The lake was a little chilly, however she did take a dip with mom and dad.
She was so mesmerized watching her dad wake board

Our first camping trip of the summer was to one of our absolute favorite lakes (Pillsbury). We plan a trip with friends to Lake Pillsbury every year. Hannah was excited to have her BFF Kenzie along on the trip. The girls camped together last year at 2 1/2 months old. This year was sooo different from last year! :) They had so much fun playing in the campsite together and in the screen room/playroom of our tent. Hannah spent every day on our boat and loved it every time. She even had her first tubing experience with mom. She didn't smile, nor cry just did sign language for "more" :) She was done with the ride however after water sprayed into both her and my face. We celebrated Father's Day while on the lake and Hannah made a special shirt for her dad, which he proudly wore. They were too cute together. :)
Loungin' in Kenzie's camping chair enjoying a snack...she looks so big here!!!

Their little guy will join Hannah next year for camping and we can't wait!)
