About Us....

My photo
Married on Aug. 12, 2005....we met through mutual friends in the spring of 2000 while playing on a co-ed softball team. We both teach…me elementary (since 2004) and Josh middle school history (since 2006) . I've taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grade. This year I'm moving from 6th to 1st grade, big change however I'm excited to teach primary again. Along with teaching Josh coaches 3 sports a year. We're both very active...it feels like we're always on the go. We love our boat and enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends. 2008 was a big year for us. We bought our first home in April, got our first puppy (Tuck) at the beginning of Aug. and were very excited to find out mid Aug. that we were pregnant. Our daughter, Hannah Nicole was born on April, 4 2009 :) Parenthood is so much better than we ever expected it to be. Hannah is such an easy going, happy little girl. On April 21 of 2012 our second daughter Jordyn Elizabeth entered our lives & made our family complete. We are so fortunate to have two healthy, happy, beautiful girls.

VEGAS!!!

We just got home from a week in Fortuna for my sister and Shaun's wedding. There are details and pictures to post, however I thought I'd catch up on the few weeks that led up to the wedding first starting with VEGAS! :)

I planned Nicole's bachelorette party for the beginning of July. 10 of us girls headed to Las Vegas to celebrate her upcoming marriage. Other than for a quick stop with Josh and some friends on our way home from Lake Powell a few years ago, I hadn't been to Vegas since my bachelorette party five years earlier. 8 of us girls flew out of San Fran Thursday morning. After enjoying Bloody Marys and having our flight delayed, we were finally on our way! Nicole had no idea where we were going to be staying (there were a few surprises I wanted for her). :)  I booked a suite at Planet Hollywood Towers (one of Vegas' newest hotels). We also ordered groceries to be delivered to our room...best idea ever!!! We all were very happy with our new home for the next few days.

For our first night on the town we headed out to the Voodoo Lounge for dinner and drinks, followed by VIP seating and dancing at Vanity.

During the days we enjoyed walking the strip, shopping, laying out and relaxing. Below are pics from inside The Bellagio. The glass flower ceiling and flower garden are so beautiful!

Ready for night #2 on the town!
Once again riding in style :) For our second night out we headed to Pure where our friend Laura B (DJ Dust) used to DJ. She was wonderful and hooked us up, even though she couldn't join us in Vegas. We had a great time and danced all night long!

Relaxing by the pool...sooo hot!
Enjoying a late afternoon movie on our HUGE projector TV screen
For our last night we enjoyed a sushi  dinner at Koi. Following dinner we headed to the Chi Room where we had front row VIP tables for the show "Peepshow" starring Holly Madison. The show was awesome, we all had such a great time! We weren't allowed to take any pictures inside of the theater, so we snapped a few before heading in. :)

Videos :)

Here are a couple videos I took from my IPhone that I thought I'd upload to the blog. The first is of Hannah and her friend Nico in the bath together. They had a fun afternoon of playing in the sun together, enjoying a BBQ dinner with their parents and then had a blast in the bath together. Nico loved showing off his swimming skills to Hannah and then screaming in delight. :)
I took this video on our drive up to Union Valley for our annual camping trip this past weekend. Hannah loves reading books to herself. We never get tired listening to her little voice. She tries so hard to read the stories like mom and dad do to her. :)

Lake Almanor/4th of July

At the end of June/beginning of July, we traveled with friends to stay at Andrea and Devin's cabin in Chester, Ca (15 min. from Lake Almanor). We had such a nice time relaxing and hanging out with friends. This year was the first time some of us decided to try tubing down the small waterfall behind the cabin. I was pretty excited I didn't fall out during my first attempt, however I was not so lucky during my second. :) Hannah had a good time playing with her friends Caleb and Jacob. They spent a lot of time scooping rocks and playing in the dirt together. :) This year we decided to tow our boat up so that we could take it out to Lake Almanor. The lake was beautiful, however it was windy and the water was extremely choppy. I think that was the first and last time our boat will make the trip to Lake Almanor.

Beautiful view of Mt. Lassen from Lake Almanor

On the Fourth of July this year I organized our first annual BBQ/Kickball Extravaganza. :) We gathered with about of 25 of our friends to BBQ in the park and play two kickball games. I honestly don't think I've played kickball since Jr. High! I forgot how much I loved it. :) The only thing I was not a fan of, was playing by the rule that you could get someone out by hitting them with the ball. The boys insisted this was how kickball is played, however I do not recall ever playing it this way. :) After kickball we BBQ'ed, played horseshoes and relaxed in the sun.
Ready to get our  kick on!
